Events at CineFest 2005


During the festive opening of CineFest on the 12th of November 2005 we will present the winners of the Willy Haas Award and the Reinhold Schünzel Award.



A special treat for the eyes and ears will be presented at Metropolis on November 13th 2005 at 15 o'clock:
Die Biene Maja und ihre Abenteuer (Regie: Wolfram Junghans)
At the suggestion of the "Waldemar Bonsels-Stiftung" this silent movie from 1924 was restored and reconstructed in 2004 by the Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv. The base for the process was a tinted nitrate copy from the FINNISH FILM ARCHIVE HELSINKI.
The famous story of the little bee Maja is told with real animals by using footage from the Kulturfilm AG, Berlin.

The screening will be presented together with the Nordic Film Days Lübeck)


On the 20th of November 2005 there will be a special screening in the presence of director Kurt Barthel at 14 o'clock in Metropolis:
Fräulein Schmetterling
In cooperation between DEFA-Foundation and Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv, this film, which was shot in 1965/66 and banned after the Eleventh Plenum of the SED Central Committee, has now been reconstructed. more
